Default The new Taboo Dark Electric Blue/Silver

Product Description Taboo Blue/Silver
Weights Available 12-16#
Color HD Dark Electric Blue/
Silver
Worldwide
Release Date September 29, 2011

Taboo Blue/Silver Features:
The original bad boys of bowling have developed the latest
bad boy in the bowling industry. The Taboo Blue/
Silver uses our new GTRII Pearl coverstock, paired with
our Black Widow core to create the strongest ball in the
history of Hammer. With an aggressive mid-lane move,
and huge continuation through the backend, bowlers will
find this Taboo 2-4 boards stronger than the original. Do
something Taboo! Rating is : Finish 6 / Cover 10 / Core 7 for a total rating of 23.

Anyone who bowls can see that the recent developments in Hammer coverstock technology are driving this brand in the bowling market. Hammer placed a ton of emphasis on this coverstock development starting around two years ago. These covers don’t come to products overnight though. We just started seeing some of those successful new designs in veneer technology last season with the Taboo. The new Taboo Dark Electric Blue/Silver uses one of the covers we targeted in research testing as an exceptional performer. Grand Theft Reactive II (GTRII) Pearl builds off of the original Taboo GTR cover and gives this intro more mid-lane friction and overall hook. Bowlers will see 2-4 boards more hook out of
the Dark Electric Blue/Silver Taboo. This ball is a monster on oily lane conditions, and will be the first ball out of most bowler’s bags on fresh lane conditions. Another first for Hammer is the finish on this Taboo Dark Electric Blue/Silver. We’ve finished Blue/ Silver with 800 Abranet, followed by 1000, 2000, and 3000 grit Abralon pads. This is the first Hammer ball with 3000 grit used as the final finish. This gives us a little more texture than 4000 grit balls without the early grab of a 2000 finish.

For the first time ever, Hammer is creating a product designed to massively influence consumer pull-through. This new product, Taboo Spare, will be offered FOR FREE to consumers who purchase the Taboo Dark Electric Blue/Silver. All the customer has to do is register their new Taboo Dark Electric Blue/Silver with Hammer Bowling, and we will ship this ball
directly to them. This new Taboo Spare is special in a lot of ways! It’s something we’ve never done before. I figured why stop at just making a Taboo Spare that looks great? Why not make the ball something truly special, completing the customer experience?
So we took our Taboo core shape and combined it with a polyester coverstock to create the Taboo Spare. For the first time ever, Hammer has a .060” differential polyester ball. Now before you get all excited, realize that it is still polyester, and you’re going to need some dry boards to hook it. But customers will definitely see a couple more boards hook than a standard polyester ball. It’s just fun to throw! The 14-16# balls will feature the Taboo core, while 12# and 13# balls will be a pancake core. The onlyway for a consumer to get a Taboo Spare is to purchase the new Taboo Dark Electric Blue/Silver!

Ads will begin running in Bowlers Journal, Bowling This Month, US Bowler, and in many local markets drawing attention to this promotion. The advertisement will note that this promotion is available only in the continental United States. This offer is limited to (1) redemption per customer.

So there it is. Hammer’s giving you all you need this season! We’ve got a great new high-performance ball with distinct differences from our first launch.

And we’ve paired it with an awesome consumer promotion on a very special product that is only available by purchasing one of these products from a store like yours!

Sounds interesting... my guess was Hybrid. Do we know the Percentage of Pearl? Guessing it has more Pearl Additive than the Arson.

The Taboo FCC Finish Rating was 6 at 2000 Abralon.

Want to see the pictures of both bowling balls.

This is very interesting.

I could even see the Taboo Spare becomng more valuable on the aftermarket than the Taboo Dark Electric Blue/Silver. It's the plastic ball with a core that everyone always asks for.

Very cool promotion / deal. Well done Hammer folks.

Any body going to get the Taboo dark.... that doesn't need the spare?

Me throwing a 23 rating ball...yea, right..that would make a U-TURN at 40 feet

I would have to yell "FORE" in the bowling alley...
at least most there would know to duck or take cover

But that spare shell would get hypnotizing
